Our 100% optical clear glass is crystal premium quality and is lead
free. With no lead content optical glass is clarified to a 100%
optically-clear state, resulting in a perfectly clear glass that shines
brightly under any light source.
Optical Glass Crystal is the
finest crystal/glass available and creates a beautiful reflection with
its depth and facets. Each
piece is polished and hand engraved with your choice of inscription. Do
not mistake it for lower quality commercial glass, lucite or plastic.
For
background, some manufacturers use jade and blue glass. It shows a green
or blue tint when viewed from the edge. Molten glass is is shaped in a
mold. It looks clear, but has bubbles that are formed during the cooling
process. Crystal clear glass is considerably more expensive to produce
than jade or blue glass. The finest quality of clear crystal glass is
optical quality.
For
example, our gem cut prism is facet-cut and is 3 3/4 inch high and weighs over one pound. It is 1 3/16
inch thick for maximum light refraction and not 1/4 inch thick
as in less expensive items. Each piece is solid 100% lead-free crystal.
